Warranty Terms

Thank you for your purchase or for your interest in purchasing a Momento in-vehicle camera system. Momento products are backed by a Manufacturer’s Warranty provided by Firstech, LLC.

Authorized Products

Firstech’s warranty policies only apply to products purchased and installed by an Authorized Momento Retailer.

“Authorized Retailer” is defined by Firstech as a company who qualifies to purchase Firstech’s products direction from Firstech, LLC., or one of Firstech’s approved distributors. Thus, products not sold nor installed by an “Authorized Retailer” are not covered by this warranty. This includes, but is not limited to, Firstech products sold on Amazon.com, eBay.com, Walmart.com, and Newegg.com.

Installation

Firstech does not share responsibility for damage caused by faulty or improper installation by authorized or unauthorized dealers. Firstech recommends MECP certified technicians. Be sure to ask for the installer’s credentials and experience to ensure you are getting a high quality installation.

Momento Product Warranties

Firstech offers warranties on Momento products. These warranties are non-transferrable and only apply to the original purchaser and the original vehicle onto which this product was installed. Warranties do not apply to products that have been re-installed into a second vehicle. The Momento product warranties cover the following issues:

  • Complete loss of video capture ability from one or more of the cameras included with your Momento dash camera product
  • Mis-calibration of touch screen capabilities
  • Recurring power loss or power-recycling
  • Missing or damaged components
  • Malfunctioning or defective components

Issues related to your Momento dash camera micro-SD card are NOT covered under this warranty. In the event that your Momento micro-SD card becomes corrupted or unusable, you will be responsible for purchasing a replacement from any electronics retailer. Momento dash cameras are compatible with all Class 10 micro-SD cards with 16 gigabytes or more storage (up to 256 gigabyte storage).

Warranties on Momento products vary in length of coverage depending on the item number. This period of warranty coverage starts from the day your Momento system is installed, or the date shown on your proof of purchase – whichever is earlier.

  • MD-6200 (M6) – 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty
  • MD-5200 (M5) – 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty
  • MD-4200 (M4) – 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty
  • MR-1000 (R1) – 3-Year Manufacturer Warranty
  • MR-C100 (C1) – 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty
  • MR-C200 (C2) – 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty
  • MR-C300 (C3) – 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty
  • MR-S100 (S1) – 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty

When purchasing a Momento dash camera product, please do NOT throw away your proof of purchase, as this will be your certificate of warranty. Without proof of purchase, Firstech reserves the right to refuse or deny warranty exchange services – even in the event of a defective, or malfunctioning component.

Firstech’s warranties on Momento products do not cover issues related to everyday wear-and-tear, unintended use, or weather/moisture.

Warranty Exchanges

In the event that you experience a product defect or malfunctioning component with your Momento product, please contact Firstech support prior immediately. You can contact Firstech support by calling (888)820-3690 or submitting an online support request at https://support.momentocam.com.

Upon reaching a Firstech support representative, please describe the issue you are experiencing with your Momento product. The Firstech support representative may recommend visiting your original place of installation to verify that your issues are not attributed to installer error.

In the event your Momento product is within its valid warranty period AND proof of purchase has been verified, the Firstech support representative will provide you with a Firstech Return Authorization number. At this time, please send your defective Momento product to Firstech along with a copy of your Firstech Return Authorization number to the following address:

If you send your defective Momento product without a Firstech Return Authorization number, your exchange may be refused and either disposed of or returned to your address.

You are responsible for the shipping of your defective Momento product to Firstech. Firstech will cover the shipping of the new, replacement Momento product to your address.

Upon receipt of your new Momento product, you bear responsibility for the proper installation and replacement of that item into your vehicle. Firstech is not responsible for any labor charges paid or incurred during warranty or troubleshooting work at authorized OR non-authorized retailers.

General Warranty Terms

FIRSTECH IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, AND LOSS OF ANTICIPATED PROFITS. FIRSTECH’S WARRANTIES DO NOT COVER ANY THIRD-PARTY DEVICES OR THE PERSONAL PROPERTY OF ANY CONSUMER. THESE WARRANTIES DO NOT APPLY TO FIRSTECH SOFTWARE OR TO ANY THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE. ANY ALTERATION, CHANGE, MODIFICATION, OR REPAIR (OTHER THAN REPLACEMENT OF A REPLACEABLE COMPONENT) MADE TO THE PRODUCT BY A PARTY OTHER THAN FIRSTECH OR FIRSTECH’S AUTHORIZED SERVICE PROVIDERS VOIDS ALL WARRANTIES. FIRSTECH RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE WARRANTY REPLACEMENT FOR SUSPECTED FRAUD OR ABUSE OF FIRSTECH’S WARRANTY POLICY CONTAINED HEREIN. FIRSTECH’S WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, REMEDIES AND CONDITIONS, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. FIRSTECH SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IF THE LAW PROHIBITS FIRSTECH FROM DISCLAIMING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, ALL SUCH WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

The benefits conferred by these warranties are in addition to other rights you may have depending on your country, state or province of residence. Furthermore, some countries, states and provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or exclusions or limitations on the duration of implied warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. If any provision of these warranties is unlawful, void or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect any remaining provisions.
